Nothing has announced the rollout of its Circle to Search feature, powered by artificial intelligence, for its smartphones. This new functionality will be part of the Nothing OS 3.0 update and is set to be available on the Nothing Phone 2a Plus, Nothing Phone 2a, and Phone 2. The update also introduces Android 15 to these devices, although some models in the Nothing lineup have yet to receive the public build.

In a post on its community forum, the company detailed that the Nothing OS 3.0 update, based on Android 15, supports Circle to Search, which is an AI-driven visual lookup tool developed by Google. This feature has been launched after extensive testing on the aforementioned smartphone models.

According to the British tech company, the Nothing OS 3.0 update is currently available as a stable version for both the Nothing Phone 2a and Phone 2. Meanwhile, users of the Nothing Phone 2a Plus can only access the Open Beta 1 version of the Nothing OS 3.0 update at this time. The specific build numbers for each model are as follows:
- Nothing Phone 2: Pong-V3.0-241207-0124
- Phone 2a: Pacman-V3.0-241210-2057
- Phone 2a Plus: PacmanPro-V3.0-241126-1448 (Beta build)
The Circle to Search feature allows users to conduct web searches by highlighting content on their screens and activating visual lookup through AI capabilities. This includes functions like scribbling, circling, or drawing over objects and text displayed on the screen. The tool can also facilitate text translation and copying. Users can invoke Circle to Search by long-pressing the home button or the navigation bar.
On Nothing smartphones, Circle to Search accommodates various navigation settings. For those using the three-button navigation style, the feature can be accessed by pressing the home button, while users who prefer gesture navigation can long-press the navigation bar to trigger it.
