Redmi appears to be in the process of developing a new smartphone that is likely to come equipped with the latest Xiaomi HyperOS 2 operating system. The device in question was recently identified on a certification site, which not only confirms its existence but also provides insight into some of its key specifications. According to the listing, it is anticipated that the new Redmi phone will feature up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. In addition, it is expected to offer a range of connectivity options, including support for Wi-Fi 6, NFC, and Bluetooth.

Redmi Phone Listing on FCC Database

The device was initially highlighted by XpertPick, appearing on the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) website under the model number 25062RN2DL. It is important to note that any product sold or manufactured in the United States must receive FCC approval to comply with regulations concerning radio frequency (RF) emissions.

While the listing does not disclose a specific name for the smartphone, it is believed to be available in three configurations: 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB. This upcoming Redmi device is projected to come pre-installed with Xiaomi HyperOS 2 and may support connectivity features such as 5G, VoLTE, WCDMA, GSM, in addition to NFC and dual-SIM capabilities.

Moreover, the FCC listing reportedly indicates that the smartphone will include proximity sensors and a SAR-compliant power management system, which is designed for use when the hotspot function is engaged or when the phone is in close contact with the user’s body. There are speculations that this device could either be introduced in the Redmi Note series or as part of another mid-range 5G smartphone lineup.

This news follows the recent discovery of another mystery phone listed on the FCC database last month. This other device was speculated to belong to the Redmi lineup, with an alternative variant potentially branded as Poco for certain markets. It is expected to feature a 6.9-inch LCD display, a large 6,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging capabilities, and could also run on HyperOS 2.2.

However, it seems that this device may lack 5G connectivity, suggesting that it may be positioned as a more budget-friendly option.
