New leaks concerning the Nintendo Switch 2 continue to emerge following the console’s unveiling last month. Prior to Nintendo’s announcement, the device was surrounded by numerous rumors and leaks that hinted at its design and capabilities. Recently, additional images have appeared online, presumed to be computer-generated renders of the Switch 2’s dock. While the official reveal provided a front view of the dock, these new images display it from multiple perspectives.

The renders were shared on the Famiboards forum, as noted by VGC, within a discussion forum centered on future Nintendo hardware. A post in the thread indicated that this latest leak originates from the same source that provided renders of the Nintendo Switch 2 on the Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu last year.
These new images illustrate the Switch 2 dock from various angles, closely resembling the version shown during Nintendo’s official announcement. The renders feature vents for improved thermal management, although there are no confirmed specifications or additional details about the dock or the hybrid console available at this time.
In December 2024, a tipster who claimed to have hands-on experience with the Nintendo Switch 2 suggested that the new model will include a more advanced dock compared to its predecessor. The source indicated that the Switch 2 dock is designed to support 60W of power, while the console itself will be rated for 45W. If accurate, these figures would mark a significant increase, given that the original Nintendo Switch draws around 18W using its 39W AC adapter.
During the official reveal of the Switch 2, the dock appeared larger and featured a more rounded design compared to the original Switch dock. Although Nintendo has yet to release detailed hardware specifications for the new console, a dedicated Nintendo Direct presentation focused on the Switch 2 is scheduled for April 2.
While comprehensive information about the console remains pending, a recently published Nintendo patent suggests that the new Joy-Cons will incorporate magnets, which would facilitate a new snap-on connection mechanism. Furthermore, the patent hints at mouse functionality being included in the upcoming Joy-Cons.
Nintendo has not officially announced a release date for the Switch 2, though it is confirmed to launch in 2025. Earlier this month, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa stated that the company is enhancing its resources to meet the anticipated demand for the Switch 2, aiming to mitigate any potential issues with resellers impacting stock during its release.
