Two new video games inspired by the iconic horror series Halloween are currently in the works. Boss Team Games, known for the development of Evil Dead: The Game, is at the helm of these projects. So far, specifics about the games remain sparse, but a dedicated website has been launched featuring a subscription form for players eager for updates.
Adaptation of the Halloween Franchise
As reported by IGN, the upcoming games will pay homage to John Carpenter’s seminal 1978 slasher film, Halloween. Boss Team Games is collaborating with the producers of the film franchise to bring these titles to life.
While the official titles and release schedules haven’t been disclosed, the website https://halloweengame.com/ offers fans the chance to sign up for updates. The site highlights partnerships with Compass International Pictures, which holds the franchise rights, and Further Front publishing, alongside Boss Team Games.
One of the games is set to utilize Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5, with Carpenter himself involved in the creative process. The legendary director is reported to be closely engaged in the development, promising an authentic Halloween experience.
“As a huge gamer myself, I’m thrilled to help bring Michael Myers to life again in this game, and my hope is to scare you silly,” Carpenter was quoted as saying in the report.
Players will reportedly have the opportunity to revisit memorable scenes from the film and interact with beloved characters. Although the development trajectory of the games remains unclear, it has been noted that the Unreal Engine 5 title is still in its nascent stages.
Boss Team Games primarily focuses on adaptations of established franchises and has previously released Evil Dead: The Game in 2022, an asymmetric survival horror experience developed by Saber Interactive. This title, which draws from the popular Evil Dead series created by Sam Raimi, became available on multiple platforms including PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X. In addition, the studio launched Cobra Kai: Card Fighter, a mobile game available on Android and iOS in 2021.
