The UK-based brand Nothing, along with its sub-brand CMF, appears poised to introduce a new smartphone in the Indian market shortly. Teasers shared on social media suggest upcoming product launches, with the India X account hinting at a potential new release through a Pokemon-themed teaser featuring Bulbasaur. While the company has not officially confirmed the name, speculation suggests that the CMF Phone 2 may be unveiled as the successor to last year’s CMF Phone 1. Additionally, CMF is anticipated to launch new audio and wearable devices as well.
New Smartphone Anticipated from Nothing or CMF
CMF has recently offered hints about the release of four new devices under the CMF by Nothing brand via its X handle and community page. The company presented four promotional posters featuring characters from the popular Pokemon series: Bulbasaur, Gligar, Girafarig, and Hoothoot.
There is a strong belief that the codename Bulbasaur pertains to the upcoming CMF Phone 2, while Girafarig is speculated to relate to the Watch Pro 3. Gligar may refer to the CMF Neckband Pro 2, and Hoothoot is likely associated with the Buds Pro 3.
Significantly, Nothing India has circulated a poster featuring Bulbasaur with a ‘coming soon’ tag on X, amplifying anticipation for the new phone’s debut in the Indian market.
Earlier this month, purported images of the CMF Phone 2 emerged online, revealing a matte finish and a triple rear camera setup. This new model is expected to include enhancements compared to the CMF Phone 1, which was launched in India in July 2024 as the first device from the CMF brand, starting at Rs. 15,999 for the base variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
The CMF Phone 1 boasts a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) AMOLED LTPS display featuring an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 5G processor, combined with configurations of up to 8GB of RAM. The device sports a dual-camera system on the rear, including a 50-megapixel primary sensor by Sony and a portrait sensor. The phone is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging and 5W reverse wired charging.
