Elon Musk has announced that the chatbot developed by his artificial intelligence startup will soon be integrated into Tesla Inc. vehicles, following a recent controversy involving the bot posting antisemitic remarks on his social media platform.

In a post on X on Thursday, Musk stated, “Grok is coming to Tesla vehicles very soon,” with expectations set for its arrival within the week.

The update came shortly after Musk showcased a new version of Grok during a video livestream, where he and the xAI team highlighted advancements in voice interactions and performance metrics that reportedly surpass those of models developed by competitors like OpenAI.

Grok 4 was launched less than 24 hours after xAI worked to remove inappropriate content, including antisemitic posts, that had appeared on X. In response to the backlash, xAI emphasized its commitment to preventing hate speech, stating, “Since being made aware of the content, xAI has taken action to ban hate speech before Grok posts on X.”

The announcement of Grok’s integration into Tesla vehicles indicates a deepening partnership between the electric automaker and xAI, a collaboration that some Tesla investors have been advocating for amid declining vehicle sales.

Last year, Musk conducted a poll on X, querying users about whether Tesla should allocate $5 billion to invest in xAI. He noted that he was gauging interest and acknowledged that any investment would require approval from the company’s board and shareholders.

After receiving a favorable response, with 68 percent of participants voting in favor, Musk indicated that he would bring the idea to Tesla’s board for discussion. Following this, xAI merged with X in an agreement that Musk claimed valued the AI venture at $80 billion, while positioning the social media platform at $33 billion.

Tesla reported in April that xAI contributed to its revenue in the preceding year, with expenses amounting to $198.3 million related to commercial and consulting agreements with the automaker. A significant portion of this revenue, totaling $191 million, was attributed to xAI’s procurement of Tesla’s utility-scale batteries, known as Megapack.

As of 7:21 am Thursday, Tesla shares experienced a slight increase of 1.1 percent ahead of the regular trading session in New York.
