MSI unveiled its latest handheld gaming consoles, the Claw 8+ AI and Claw 7+ AI, on Tuesday. These devices are powered by Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) processors, coupled with 32GB of RAM, and feature impressive touchscreen displays up to 8 inches with a 120Hz refresh rate. Both consoles operate on Windows 11 and include a fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button. The devices are equipped with 6-cell Li-Po batteries that support 65W fast charging.
Pricing and Availability of MSI Claw 8+ AI and Claw 7+ AI
The MSI Claw 8+ AI is priced at $899 (approximately Rs. 76,150) and will be offered in a single Sandstorm color option. Meanwhile, the MSI Claw 7+ AI is available for $799 (around Rs. 67,680) and comes in a sleek Black variant.
Preorders for both models are currently being accepted in the United States. They are scheduled to become available for purchase on January 15, 2025, through the company’s website and Amazon.

Both the MSI Claw 8+ AI and Claw 7+ AI will come pre-installed with Windows 11, along with MSI’s exclusive App Player software for running Android games. They are powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor and an Intel Arc 140V GPU, accompanied by 32GB of LPDDR5X-8533 RAM.

The Claw 8+ AI comes equipped with an 8-inch Full-HD+ (1,920×1,200 pixels) IPS display, whereas the Claw 7+ AI features a 7-inch Full-HD (1,920×1,080 pixels) IPS screen. Both displays support a 120Hz refresh rate and achieve peak brightness levels of 500 nits.
Storage options include 1TB SSD for the MSI Claw 8+ AI and 512GB SSD for the Claw 7+ AI. The former supports advanced Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth connectivity, while the latter is equipped with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
Each model includes two USB Type-C (Thunderbolt 4) ports with USB PD 3.0 charging support, a MicroSD card reader, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The fingerprint scanner is situated on the power button for enhanced security.
The MSI Claw 8+ AI features a robust 6-cell 80Wh battery, while the Claw 7+ AI is powered by a smaller 54.5Wh battery. Both devices can be charged via a USB PD 3.0 charger at 65W. The dimensions of the Claw 8+ AI are 299x126x24mm, with a weight of 795g, and the Claw 7+ AI measures 290x117x21.2mm, weighing in at 675g.
