MSI introduced its latest handheld gaming device, the Claw 8, on Tuesday during Computex 2025 in Taipei. This new model expands the company’s portable gaming line, which includes the previously unveiled Claw 8 AI+ introduced at last year’s Computex. The Claw 8 is powered by AMD’s Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor and features LPDDR5-800 memory. The device boasts an 8-inch full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, MSI revealed the Claw 8 AI+ Polar Tempest Edition, now equipped with a boosted 2TB NVMe SSD.

The MSI Claw 8 features an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor and supports up to 24GB of dual-channel LPDDR5x-8000 RAM, in addition to PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD storage. The device runs on Windows 11 Home and integrates AMD Radeon Graphics. Its 8-inch full HD+ IPS display features a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels with a refresh rate of 120Hz, 100 percent sRGB coverage, variable refresh rate (VRR), and a maximum brightness of 500 nits.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and two USB 4.0 Type-C ports that support Thunderbolt 4 and DisplayPort. A microSD card reader and a standard 3.5mm headphone jack are also integrated into the device. The Claw 8 is compact, measuring 299.5 x 126.2 x 24mm and weighing approximately 765 grams.
Additionally, it incorporates a six-axis IMU vibration motor for improved haptic feedback and a fingerprint reader for added security. The device is powered by a robust 80Wh six-cell Lithium-Polymer battery.

Similarly, the MSI Claw 8 AI+ Polar Tempest Edition retains the internal specifications of the standard version but offers enhanced storage with up to 2TB of NVMe SSD. This edition also features a new design characterized by a striking white finish and a glittering UV coating.
The company has yet to announce pricing and availability for both the MSI Claw 8 and the MSI Claw 8 AI+ Polar Tempest Edition, but further information is expected in the near future.
