On Wednesday, Motorola revealed plans to incorporate Microsoft’s Copilot Vision feature into its Moto AI suite. The integration signifies a continuation of their collaboration and will enable users with Moto AI-compatible devices to utilize advanced artificial intelligence (AI) computer vision technology in selected regions.
Furthermore, Motorola announced that future devices will come preloaded with the Copilot app.
Motorola Razr and Edge Models Set to Access Copilot Vision
As part of this rollout, the Copilot Vision feature is set to be accessible on select Motorola Razr and Motorola Edge devices in markets including the US and India, where the feature is already operational. The Moto AI suite is currently available on various models within the Motorola Razr and Edge series.
Users looking to take advantage of this feature will need to either create a new Copilot account or log into an existing one. Notably, Copilot Vision is not available for offline use and requires an active Wi-Fi or cellular connection. Microsoft’s terms and conditions, along with its data collection policies, will govern the usage of the feature since it is managed by the company.
In an interesting twist, Copilot Vision on Motorola devices can utilize the camera to analyze the user’s environment and respond to questions. This functionality is not present in the desktop version of the tool. The feature also includes a real-time two-way voice interaction capability, enabling hands-free engagement with the chatbot. However, it remains uncertain whether the visual assistant has the ability to view and assist with on-screen content.
In terms of privacy, Motorola assures that the Copilot Vision feature will be opt-in, meaning the chatbot will not have access to the camera or microphone unless users explicitly enable it. Users will also have the option to try out the Vision feature before signing into Copilot.
Once integrated into Motorola’s ecosystem, Copilot Vision will enter a competitive arena with Google’s Gemini Live, which offers similar functionalities. Unlike Copilot, Gemini allows users to share their screens for real-time assistance and serves as the default voice assistant across all Android devices, providing it with an additional edge.
