Capcom revealed on Monday that Monster Hunter Wilds has reached a notable sales milestone of 10 million copies globally across various platforms. The action role-playing game, which debuted on February 28, achieved this remarkable figure just one month after its release. Additionally, the title has set a record for first-month sales within Capcom’s history.
Monster Hunter Wilds Hits 10 Million Sales Mark
This announcement was made in a press release from Capcom, which noted that the game’s impressive performance was a blend of the series’ traditional appeal and innovative new features.
The company highlighted that the inclusion of crossplay—marking the first occurrence in the franchise—coupled with a simultaneous launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, has broadened the audience for the game. This environment enables a diverse range of players to engage together.
Furthermore, the addition of the Focus Mode mechanic and the ability to seamlessly move between settlements and ecosystems have contributed to an even more engaging gameplay experience. The integration of these new elements with the established Monster Hunter charm has led to substantial excitement, culminating in the first-month sales record of over 10 million units sold.
Director Yuya Tokuda expressed gratitude to fans following the announcement. In an open letter, Tokuda stated, “We are very happy that so many people around the world are playing the game.” To celebrate this accomplishment, the team is planning to release a complimentary item pack for the community, with further details to be announced soon.

First Title Update Scheduled for April 4
Additionally, Capcom announced that the inaugural free Title Update is set to be released on April 4. This update will feature a beloved monster along with the introduction of the Grand Hub, an in-game location where players can connect and communicate online. Other enhancements and fixes will also be included in this update.
Capcom confirmed that another update is planned for the end of May, and a second Free Title Update is anticipated during the summer months. The company indicated that more updates will follow in the future for Monster Hunter Wilds.
This first free Title Update is also aimed at improving game stability on PC, as players have reported various technical difficulties since launch. The director’s letter specified that some of these concerns, such as reduced VRAM usage and an upgrade to the DirectStorage version on Steam, will be resolved in the upcoming update, which is expected to enhance stability for PC users.
Since its launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X on February 28, Monster Hunter Wilds recorded over one million concurrent players on Steam on its launch day. It has now secured its position as the fifth most-played game of all time on the platform, with Capcom announcing last month that the title sold over eight million copies within just three days of release.
