Launched on Friday, Monster Hunter Wilds is now available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X, quickly establishing itself as a major success on Steam. Within hours of its debut, the action-RPG achieved the remarkable feat of surpassing one million concurrent players, ranking among the most-played games in the platform’s history.
Monster Hunter Wilds Achieves Record-Breaking Success
As reported by SteamDB charts, Monster Hunter Wilds reached a peak of 1,187,077 concurrent players on Steam on its release day. This impressive milestone positions it as the seventh most-played game of all time on Valve’s platform, overtaking significant titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, Hogwarts Legacy, and Baldur’s Gate 3.
While Capcom has yet to disclose sales figures, the impressive Steam player count indicates a highly successful launch, even amid several technical issues reported by PC users. The actual number of players engaging with Monster Hunter Wilds is likely to be significantly higher, as player data for PS5 and Xbox Series S/X remains unavailable.
This latest installment has also outperformed its predecessor, Monster Hunter World, which peaked at 334,684 players on Steam following its release in 2018.
