Viewers can look forward to not only trailers and updates from independent studios but also an announcement regarding the next major collaboration for the poker-inspired roguelike deckbuilder, Balatro. This indie favorite, which gained popularity in 2024, has previously partnered with acclaimed titles such as The Witcher 3, Among Us, and Vampire Survivors.
So far, at least 15 independent game studios have been confirmed to participate in the ID@Xbox showcase, including 11 Bit, BigFan, Critical Reflex, Daedalic, Game Source Entertainment, No More Robots, Panic, Playstack, Raw Fury, Thunder Lotus, Cult Games, Team17, Curve, Akapura, and Don’t Nod.
The livestream is scheduled for February 24 at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET / 6 pm BST (10.30 pm IST).
This upcoming event marks Microsoft’s second games showcase of the year, following January’s Xbox Developer Direct. That event provided updates on first-party titles such as Doom: The Dark Ages, South of Midnight, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, along with a surprise announcement from Koei Tecmo regarding Ninja Gaiden 4.
The developer also released Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, a remastered version of the 2008 classic, which features visual enhancements. It is now available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and Game Pass.
In a similar vein, Sony is expected to host its State of Play showcase later this month. Although the details have yet to be confirmed, it is anticipated to take place around February 14, potentially featuring announcements from both first and third-party developers.
