The Copilot AI from Microsoft is set to debut on televisions, beginning with Samsung’s 2025 range of smart TVs and monitors. This innovative integration enables users to request movie recommendations, receive spoiler-free episode summaries, and ask a variety of other questions directly through the AI assistant.
In this environment, Copilot is designed to have a “friendly, animated presence.” The assistant resembles the recently showcased Copilot Appearance from last month, albeit in a hue reminiscent of a personified chickpea. This beige figure will move around the screen, mimicking speech through animated mouth movements.
Users will notice Copilot as it is integrated into compatible Samsung TVs, accessible through Samsung’s Tizen OS homescreen, Samsung Daily Plus, and Click to Search. To engage with Copilot, viewers can use voice commands or navigate using their remote control. By pressing the mic button on the remote, they can start issuing voice commands to the assistant.
For a tailored experience, users can sign into the Copilot app, allowing the assistant to remember previous interactions and personal preferences. The rollout of Copilot is now underway for Samsung’s 2025 TV models, including Micro RGB, Neo QLED, OLED, The Frame Pro, and The Frame. Additionally, the AI assistant will also be available on the M7, M8, and M9 smart monitors. Future plans include the introduction of Copilot on LG televisions.
