Microsoft has announced the global rollout of Copilot Pages, a new feature designed to enhance collaborative efforts between artificial intelligence and users. This multiplayer workspace allows individuals to work alongside the chatbot to create and edit content and documents. Initially launched in September 2024 as part of Microsoft 365 Copilot for businesses, the feature is now accessible to all signed-in users across both mobile and desktop platforms.
Copilot Pages Now Accessible to All Users
The Microsoft Copilot team shared the announcement through a post on X (previously Twitter), informing users of this capability. While Pages is not a unique innovation—similar features have been launched by OpenAI and Google under the title Canvas—there are distinct differences worth noting.
Staff members from Gadgets 360 have had the opportunity to explore Copilot Pages. In contrast to ChatGPT or Gemini, which allow users to select Canvas prior to sending a prompt, Copilot Pages necessitates that users first initiate a prompt and receive a response before entering the collaborative setting. Pages provide a broader range of formatting options than its competitors, allowing for increased indents, color changes, and the addition of collapsible headlines or callouts.

The visual appeal of Copilot Pages sets it apart, with options that are easily navigable. However, the rich interface does contribute to slower load times when compared to Canvas in ChatGPT and Gemini, with wait times occasionally exceeding 30 seconds when transitioning between pages.
Additional features of Copilot Pages include the ability to incorporate tables, checklists, or bullet points. Given its collaborative nature, users can highlight text—be it a sentence, paragraph, or single word—and request the chatbot to refine or enhance it. Users can ask Copilot to elaborate, shorten, alter the tone, or simplify text for better comprehension. Furthermore, pages can be shared among users, fostering teamwork on various projects.
