Microsoft has announced the global rollout of Copilot Pages, a new feature designed for collaborative content creation. Last week, the tech giant unveiled this innovative artificial intelligence platform that allows users to work alongside a chatbot to edit and generate documents. Initially introduced in September 2024 as part of Microsoft 365 Copilot for enterprises, the feature is now accessible to all users of the platform around the world, available on both desktop and mobile applications.

In a recent update shared via a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Microsoft Copilot’s official account revealed the expansion of this feature. While Copilot Pages may not be unique—OpenAI and Google have similarly introduced their versions with a feature called Canvas—there are notable differences in functionality.

Members of the Gadgets 360 team had the opportunity to test Copilot Pages. In contrast to ChatGPT or Gemini, where the Canvas option is available prior to submitting a prompt, users of Copilot Pages must first submit a prompt to obtain a response before they can access the collaborative workspace. Notably, the formatting options in Copilot Pages are more extensive, offering choices for adjusting indents, altering text colors, and including collapsible headlines or callouts.

With a more visually appealing interface, Copilot Pages also ensures that different options are readily accessible. However, this enhanced design comes with the drawback of slower loading times when compared to Canvas on ChatGPT and Gemini. Users have reported waiting over 30 seconds to open a page, particularly when navigating between different sections.

The feature further supports collaboration by allowing users to insert tables, checklists, or bullet points. Users can highlight specific text—whether it be a sentence, paragraph, or word—and request the chatbot to refine it, elaborating, shortening, or altering the tone of the content as needed. Additionally, users can share their pages with others, fostering collaboration on projects.
