The announcement was made in a blog post from the company, based in Menlo Park, which highlighted the significance of LlamaCon—its name derived from Llama, which stands for Large Language Model Meta AI. Participants can expect discussions on forthcoming Llama iterations, AI agents, and a range of developer tools for app and product creation.
While specific details regarding the event format have yet to be confirmed, it is likely to adopt a hybrid model, allowing attendees to join both in person and online. Additional information, including registration processes and session topics, is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
In January, Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company is developing the Llama 4 AI models, which will feature multimodal capabilities and enhanced functions to facilitate various new applications. He also underscored the company’s commitment to personalizing experiences through the Meta AI chatbot.
A report by TechCrunch noted that Meta plans to unveil multiple large language models (LLMs) in the near future, including those designed for reasoning tasks, positioning them to compete with top offerings from other companies. Furthermore, Meta is projected to allocate around $80 billion (approximately Rs. 6.9 lakh crore) towards AI initiatives in 2024, which will include investments in talent acquisition and the establishment of data centers for AI operations.
