Following its previous models, the original Wheel vertical turntable and the improved Wheel 2, the small team at Miniot is celebrating the launch of the Wheel 3. This innovative turntable offers versatility in playback, allowing users to play vinyl records either upright on its stand, flat on a table, or mounted on a wall.
Central to the Wheel 3’s performance is a newly developed optical stylus, which Miniot claims surpasses any previous versions. Additionally, it includes a “bespoke, high-end” amplifier along with a redesigned linear tonearm that moves vertically across the record, contrasting with the lateral motion of the earlier Wheel 2 model I reviewed in 2023.
For user convenience, the volume and playback slider remains integrated into the rim at the top, close to a dimmable display, allowing for precise digital control over the analog audio experience.
The updated design of the Wheel 3 is both slimmer and more cohesive, featuring two distinct components: a solid composite back paired with a polished aluminum unibody front. Additionally, a Special Edition of the Wheel 3 will be available, boasting a solid wooden back for those who appreciate the brand’s organic aesthetic.
Customers can currently preorder the Wheel 3 at a price point of $3,350 / €2,900, with shipments anticipated within 10 weeks.
