Rockstar Games has reportedly fallen victim to a significant leak involving its popular titles. Multiple sources indicate that the complete source code for Grand Theft Auto 5 has been exposed, alongside potential files related to Grand Theft Auto 6 and a rumored sequel to the 2006 game, Bully. This comes shortly after a hacker linked to last year’s GTA 6 gameplay leak was sentenced to an indefinite period in a mental health facility.
YouTuber SKizzleAXE posted images of the leaked content on X, showing the source code for GTA 5, which reveals an early iteration of the game’s map. The leak also hints that GTA 6 was previously referred to as “Project Americas,” and includes files associated with Bully 2, a title that has been anticipated since the original game’s release.
Gaming Detective (@that1detectiv3) noted on X that the full scale of the leak remains uncertain, but issues could arise, potentially causing delays in the launch of projects like GTA 6. As of now, Rockstar Games has not publicly addressed the leak.
The gaming community is still reeling from September 2022’s extensive leak by hacker Arion Kurtaj, which unveiled over 90 videos and has been labeled the largest leak in gaming history. Last week, he received an indefinite sentence to a mental health facility following a psychological evaluation.
In November, additional leaks included a database file from GTA 5, which contained references to Trevor, one of the game’s protagonists, and a jet pack. Information pertaining to Bully 2 has also emerged, further fueling speculation surrounding its development. Previous reports in 2018 suggested that the sequel would make its debut that year, though no official confirmation has been made regarding Bully 2.
