The upcoming Asus ROG Ally X is set to be launched in the next few weeks, with details regarding its specifications emerging online prior to the official announcement. The new model is an enhanced version of the original ROG Ally, focusing on upgrades rather than a complete redesign. Features outlined in the leaked information indicate significant hardware enhancements, including an upgraded battery and increased memory capabilities aimed at improving overall device performance.

Expected Specifications for Asus ROG Ally X

A recent report from VideoCardz suggests that the ROG Ally X will boast a substantial 80Whr battery, allowing for extended gaming sessions. In contrast, the original model was equipped with a 40Whr battery, which garnered user complaints regarding its limited battery life.

Memory specifications are also set to see a notable upgrade. While the first-generation ROG Ally featured 16GB of RAM, the new model will include 24GB of LPDDR5 memory, alongside an enhanced memory bandwidth of 7,500MHz, compared to the 6,400MHz in the previous version.

The report indicates that the ROG Ally X will retain the same AMD Ryzen Z1 Ultimate APU found in its predecessor. Additionally, the 7-inch full-HD display with a 120Hz refresh rate will also remain unchanged.

Asus plans to enhance the cooling system by introducing a smaller fan in the ROG Ally X. This fan will be 23 percent smaller and feature fins that are 50 percent thinner compared to the previous model, resulting in a 10 percent improvement in airflow.

With the upgrade to a larger battery, the ROG Ally X will see changes in its dimensions and weight. The device is expected to be 36.9mm thick, which is an increase of 4.5mm over the original model. The total weight will reportedly be 678g, making it 70g heavier than the first-generation ROG Ally. More information regarding the Asus ROG Ally X, including a rumored price of $799 (approximately Rs. 66,400) and its availability, is anticipated during Computex 2024, which begins on June 4.
