OnePlus is set to host a Music Festival on November 16 in Mumbai, with international superstar Katy Perry confirmed as the headliner. This announcement marks the debut of the OnePlus Music Festival in India, and the company has indicated that additional performers will be revealed in the lead-up to the event. The festival will take place at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, and registrations for early access are currently open on Insider.com. Participants who register will gain priority access to tickets when they become available for sale.
Katy Perry’s participation in the festival has been officially confirmed, and speculations arise that OnePlus might use this platform to unveil or promote the upcoming OnePlus 7T smartphone. In previous years, OnePlus has integrated musical performances into its product launch events, as seen during the unveiling of the OnePlus 6T, which featured artists like Brodha V and DJ Ishani. This year, the tech company appears to be elevating its musical offerings, although these hypotheses remain unverified.
“I am so happy to be returning to India and excited to headline my first-ever performance in Mumbai. I am looking forward to seeing and singing with all of my Indian KatyCats at the OnePlus Music Festival,” said Perry in a statement.
According to a report from GQ, pop sensation Dua Lipa may also perform at the festival. If confirmed, it would mark her inaugural concert in India. Perry, who has previously performed in India during the 2012 opening night of the Indian Premiere League (IPL), will be making her first appearance in Mumbai at this festival.
