Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali star in *Jurassic World Rebirth*.

Universal Pictures has unveiled a final trailer for *Jurassic World Rebirth*, set to debut in theaters over the Fourth of July weekend. This latest installment marks the fourth chapter in the Jurassic World series and the seventh film in the broader franchise that began with the iconic *Jurassic Park* in 1993.

In this new film, acclaimed actors Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali take center stage, introducing fresh perspectives to the ongoing saga. The direction is in the hands of Gareth Edwards, best known for his work on *Godzilla* (2014), while the screenplay was crafted by David Koepp, a veteran writer for both *Jurassic Park* and its sequel, *The Lost World* (1997). This installment aims to rejuvenate the franchise while revisiting the original research facility from the classic narrative.

The official synopsis reveals what viewers can expect: Five years after the events of *Jurassic World Dominion*, Earth’s environment has largely become inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those that remain are scattered across isolated, tropical locales that resemble their historical habitats. Within this unique ecosystem, three tremendous creatures, spanning land, sea, and air, possess genetic material that holds potential breakthroughs in human medicine.

Johansson portrays Zora Bennett, a covert operations specialist tasked with leading a team on a high-stakes mission to retrieve this valuable genetic material. Their journey intersects with a civilian family, who find themselves stranded on a remote island after a run-in with predatory aquatic dinosaurs. This island, once an undisclosed research site for Jurassic Park, is home to a shocking secret that the world has not known for years.

The film’s cast is rounded out with notable performances from Rupert Friend as pharmaceutical representative Martin Krebs; Jonathan Bailey as paleontologist Henry Loomis; and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Reuben Delgado, whose family becomes shipwrecked. Additional cast members include Luna Blaise, David Iacano, Audrina Miranda, Bechir Sylvain, and newcomers Ed Skrein and Philippine Velge, who have been cast in undisclosed roles.

The initial trailer, released in February, introduced the core narrative and characters while emphasizing the return to the franchise’s roots at the original Jurassic Park. The setting is described as perilous, evoking a character’s statement: “No one’s dumb enough to go where we’re going.” The mission’s priority may involve securing DNA from a pterosaur (potentially *Quetzalcoatlus northropi*) before provoking the wrath of its massive mother, described as a “flying carnivore the size of an F-16.” The island is said to host the most dangerous of cloned dinosaurs, including dangerous raptors and the terrifying mosasaur.

This new trailer showcases familiar footage and dialogue, revealing significant plot points. It opens with a dramatic scene in which a laboratory worker, trapped in a containment chamber, desperately pleads for escape before facing a T-rex, setting a suspenseful tone for the film.

The trailer continues to follow Zora and the shipwrecked family as they navigate encounters with deadly dinosaurs, featuring Johansson leading the action-packed narrative. Alongside thrilling sequences, audiences can expect stunning visuals of the lush environments and dynamic creatures.

*Jurassic World Rebirth* is slated to hit theaters on July 2, 2025.
