The iPhone 17 series is anticipated to debut in September, but early leaks are already revealing insights into the designs of the upcoming models. Recently, new renders of dummy units for the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air (also referred to as Slim), iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max (or Ultra) have surfaced online. These renders showcase all four versions of the iPhone 17 lineup in black and white shades, with the standard model maintaining its familiar look, while the Pro versions feature an updated camera bar design.
New Renders Provide Sneak Peek into iPhone 17 Design
The iPhone 17 Air, which is expected to take over from the iPhone 16 Plus, seems to have a completely redesigned appearance. It features a slim profile and a unique camera arrangement different from the other models. The images depict an elongated pill-shaped camera array that draws similarities to those found on Google Pixel devices. Additionally, the horizontally aligned camera section appears to contain a single sensor.
In contrast, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are set to undergo the most significant design alterations. These models are shown with a newly designed long horizontal camera bar, moving away from the current square configuration of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Previous leaks have hinted at the transition to a larger camera housing, and the hue of the camera islands corresponds with the color of the phones’ casings. Both Pro models maintain the configuration of three rear cameras, akin to their predecessors.
As the potential unveiling of the iPhone 17 series approaches in September, following Apple’s historical release patterns, additional design leaks can be expected in the coming months ahead of the official launch.
