Mivi AI Buds, the latest addition to Mivi’s lineup of earphones, were launched in India on Friday. These truly wireless stereo (TWS) earphones feature a voice-activated artificial intelligence (AI) system that allows users to engage with it hands-free. Known as Mivi AI, this contextually aware assistant boasts a memory function and requires a connection to a companion app for full functionality. The earphones are equipped with a 13mm driver and a quad microphone system, promising up to 40 hours of total playback time when used with the charging case. Mivi AI Buds are now available for purchase.
Mivi AI Buds Price in India, Availability
The Mivi AI Buds are officially priced at Rs. 6,999 according to a press release, yet they are currently listed on the official Mivi India website for Rs. 5,999. Buyers can choose from a range of colors, including Black, Bronze, Champagne, and Silver. The earphones can be purchased through Flipkart and the Mivi India website.
Mivi AI Buds Features and Specifications
Crafted with a unibody metallic design, the Mivi AI Buds feature an hourglass-shaped stem and a glossy finish. Their design resembles that of the Mivi SuperPods Concerto, which debuted in March. Weighing a total of 52g (including the case), these earbuds incorporate a 13mm driver and a sophisticated quad microphone array.
These earbuds offer a 3D soundstage and support for spatial audio, in addition to Bluetooth 5.4 and LDAC codec compatibility. Active noise cancellation is also included, although the company has not provided specifics about this feature. Users can enjoy a total of 40 hours of playback time with the case, which requires one hour to charge.
The Mivi AI Buds also come with an IPX4 water resistance rating, dual connectivity options, and a dedicated gaming mode.
Mivi AI Features
A standout feature of the Mivi AI Buds is the voice-activated Mivi AI assistant, accessible directly through the earbuds when paired with the companion app. Although the AI assistant can operate without a visual interface, users can opt for a text-based interaction via the app. The assistant can be activated using the wake phrase “Hi Mivi.”
The Mivi AI assistant offers five pre-configured avatars: Chef, Guru, Interviewer, News Reporter, and Wellness Coach. Each avatar serves a distinct purpose, allowing for simultaneous use. The Guru avatar specializes in explaining complex subjects; the Interviewer assists in interview prep; the Chef provides detailed cooking instructions; the News Reporter curates personalized news; and the Wellness Coach offers a judgment-free space for users to discuss their concerns.
Earlier this year, representatives from Mivi indicated that the AI service would initially be free, with plans to eventually transition to a freemium model that offers additional features through a paid subscription.
