The Infinix Note 50 series is set to launch in Indonesia on March 3, with plans to incorporate the DeepSeek-R1 artificial intelligence model within its devices. This integration is expected to enhance the capabilities of Infinix’s native voice assistant, Folax. While the company has confirmed the inclusion of AI features in the new series, specific details have yet to be disclosed. The Note 50 series will follow the Infinix Note 40 lineup, which debuted in April 2024.
Infinix Note 50 Series to Feature DeepSeek-R1 Capabilities
A report from GSMArena indicates that the forthcoming Infinix Note 50 series will incorporate the DeepSeek-R1 model, a reasoning-oriented AI platform. According to unnamed sources cited in the report, this AI model will be integrated into the Folax voice assistant, enhancing its functionality across all smartphones in the series.
Infinix aims to leverage this AI technology to elevate the performance of its voice assistant. Initial internal testing has reportedly shown promising results, with the AI-enhanced Folax demonstrating improved understanding of contextual user queries and voice commands, along with a significantly quicker response time for searches.
An official announcement regarding this integration is anticipated on February 26, during which Infinix may also provide additional details about the new smartphone series. The Folax voice assistant was initially launched in September 2021 alongside the Infinix Zero X series, and users can access it either by long-pressing the power button or using a designated activation phrase.
Recently, Infinix confirmed the Note 50 series launch date in Indonesia, set for March 3. The company has also shared a teaser of one model’s design, featuring a rectangular rear camera module with curved edges. The series promises to introduce AI enhancements, potentially including the DeepSeek-R1 model.
Earlier this month, the Infinix Note 50 Pro was identified on Indonesia’s SDPPI certification site, listed under the model number X6855. However, the certification did not provide any additional information regarding the phone’s specifications.
