The Honor X70 made its debut earlier this month, featuring an impressive 8,300mAh silicon-carbon battery. This device claims to provide up to 15.6 hours of continuous GPS navigation on a single charge. Recent reports from China, however, indicate that Honor is working on a new smartphone with even greater battery capabilities. This upcoming model is rumored to be equipped with a colossal 10,000mAh battery, potentially utilizing an enhanced version of the silicon-carbon technology. If these claims are accurate, it would rank among the highest-capacity batteries ever integrated into a mainstream smartphone.
New Honor Smartphone with 10,000mAh Battery Under Development
Earlier in the month, a tipster known as Digital Chat Station, active on Weibo, revealed that an unnamed Chinese smartphone manufacturer is planning to test a mid-range device featuring a 10,000mAh battery in the first half of 2026. Despite the extensive battery size, the smartphone is anticipated to maintain a sleek design, measuring less than 8.5mm in thickness. In a recent Weibo update, the tipster noted that the device has progressed to the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase, signaling ongoing development.
While the specifics of the smartphone remain undisclosed, speculation mounts around its identity. Many users are proposing that it may be the anticipated Honor Power 2, likely to succeed the Honor Power, which was launched in April 2025 with an 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery.
Honor seems poised to enhance battery performance across both its mid-range and flagship lines. Recent leaks suggest that forthcoming flagship models could feature batteries in the range of 7,020mAh to 7,200mAh. In addition, mid-range devices are expected to boast larger batteries, potentially ranging from 8,200mAh to 8,400mAh.
The Honor X70, recently launched in China, includes an 8,300mAh battery that advertises up to 18 hours of screen time, along with 15.6 hours of navigation, and 27 hours of playback for “short videos” on a single charge. The top-tier variant of the Honor Magic V5 foldable smartphone, featuring 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, includes a 6,100mAh battery.
Honor is not the only brand focused on enhancing battery life. Chinese competitor Oppo recently launched the K13 Turbo and K13 Turbo Pro, both equipped with 7,000mAh batteries and 80W fast charging capabilities. In parallel, Realme initiated the release of its Realme 15 Pro 5G and Realme 15 5G in India, each featuring a 7,000mAh battery.
