Last September, Honor introduced the Magic V3 to international audiences, following its earlier launch in China. Speculation regarding the release of the Honor Magic V4 indicated a potential unveiling around this time in 2024. However, recent leaks from China suggest that the company may bypass the number 4 entirely in its foldable series, opting instead to debut the Honor Magic V5 as the successor to the Magic V3. Rumors indicate that the new model will feature a sleek design and could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

Chinese leaker FixedFocus shared insights on Weibo, implying that Honor is set to skip the Magic V4 and move directly to the Magic V5 following last year’s Magic V3. While the company has yet to officially confirm this shift in naming strategy, it is not uncommon for smartphone manufacturers, including Honor’s former parent company Huawei, to omit the number 4 from their product designations.

The anticipated Honor Magic V5 is expected to maintain a slim profile, similar to its predecessor, the Magic V3. Official availability in the Chinese market is projected for late May or early June, and it is rumored to incorporate the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC.

Honor Magic V3 Price, Specifications

Initially launched in July of last year in China, the Honor Magic V3 is recognized as the slimmest book-style foldable device, measuring just 9.2mm when folded and 4.35mm when unfolded. It made its way to global markets in September 2023, priced at GBP 1,699.99 (approximately Rs. 1,88,000) for the 12GB + 512GB variant in select European regions.

The Honor Magic V3 features a primary 7.92-inch Full HD+ LTPO OLED display and a 6.43-inch LTPO OLED cover screen. It is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and boasts a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel periscope lens, and a 40-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. Additionally, it has a 40-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone is powered by a 5,150mAh battery, supporting fast charging capabilities of up to 66W wired and 50W wireless.
