This new book-style foldable device is anticipated to feature a larger battery compared to its predecessor. Reports suggest that the device has appeared on various Chinese certification platforms, revealing insights into its battery capacity and charging capabilities. Previous leaks have hinted at launch timelines and chipset specifications for the Honor Magic V5.
Expected Features of Honor Magic V5
A smartphone identified by the model number MBH-AN10 was seen on China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and CCC certification sites, indicating it is likely the Honor Magic V5. According to information from Gizmochina, the device is expected to integrate a dual-cell battery configuration comprising a 2,070mAh cell and a 3,880mAh cell, leading to an effective battery capacity of around 5,950mAh.
Insiders suggest that Honor might market the Magic V5 as having a typical battery of 6,100mAh. If confirmed, this would mark it as the foldable smartphone with the largest battery to date. Recent leaks have also indicated that Vivo’s forthcoming X Fold 5 could feature a battery nearing 6,000mAh.
The MIIT listing also implies that the Honor Magic V5 will likely include Beidou-3 connectivity which enables short messaging services. The 3C certification reveals potential support for 66W wired fast charging, mirroring the capabilities of its predecessor.
The Honor Magic V5 is expected to sport a 6.45-inch LTPO OLED cover display and an 8-inch 2K inner display, with both screens likely supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it may utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, complemented by an IPX8-rated water-resistant design.
In terms of camera specifications, the Honor Magic V5 is likely to feature a main rear camera with 50 megapixels and optical image stabilization (OIS), accompanied by an ultra-wide lens and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. The device may also support wireless charging, satellite connectivity, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner to enhance security.
