Honor is set to introduce the Magic V Flip 2, the successor to the Magic V Flip clamshell foldable launched in June 2024. This new smartphone is anticipated to be powered by a sub-flagship Snapdragon 8 series chipset, along with enhancements including a larger battery, faster charging capabilities, and upgraded camera technology. Recently, details regarding the battery size and charging features have emerged from a reliable tipster, though the company has yet to officially announce the launch date for the device.
Expected Specifications for Honor Magic V Flip 2 Battery and Charging
According to a Weibo post by the tipster Digital Chat Station, the Honor Magic V Flip 2 is likely to be equipped with a 5,500mAh battery. If confirmed, this would mark the largest battery seen in a clamshell foldable, surpassing its predecessor and the newly launched Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7.
The forthcoming model is expected to support 80W wired fast charging, a notable upgrade from the original Honor Magic V Flip, which has a 4,800mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 features a smaller 4,300mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging.
An earlier leak from the same source suggested that the Honor Magic V Flip 2 might feature a sub-flagship Snapdragon 8 series chipset, possibly the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC. The smartphone is also likely to have a 6.8-inch Full-HD+ LTPO main display and a 4-inch Full-HD+ LTPO cover display. For photography, the device may incorporate a dual-camera setup on the outside, highlighted by a 50-megapixel primary sensor. The expected launch date for this model in China is August.
The current Honor Magic V Flip is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and includes a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera at the rear, and a 50-megapixel front-facing camera. Its display features a main screen of 6.80 inches and an outer screen measuring 4 inches. For security, it utilizes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. In China, the pricing starts at CNY 4,999 (approximately Rs. 57,000) for the 12GB + 256GB variant, reaching up to CNY 5,999 (around Rs. 70,000) for the 12GB + 1TB model.
