The Honor 400 series is set to make its debut in European markets on May 22, featuring the Honor 400 and Honor 400 Pro models. In anticipation of the launch, Honor has revealed that both smartphones will come equipped with six years of Android updates. This initiative highlights the company’s enduring partnership with Google, which will also enhance the Honor 400 series with artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities powered by the Veo 2 video generation model, allowing users to convert images into short videos.
Honor 400 Series to Receive Extended Update Support
Honor has announced that its new devices, the Honor 400 and the Honor 400 Pro, will come with six years of Android OS updates. The company underscores that its ongoing collaboration with Google and other industry partners is essential to its Honor Alpha Plan, which aims to foster an expansive AI ecosystem through a three-pronged approach.
The Honor 400 series will also feature AI-driven capabilities for transforming images into videos via Google’s Vertex technology, utilizing the Veo 2 model. This functionality will enable users to animate still images like artwork and vintage photographs into short video clips lasting between five to seven seconds. However, this feature will not be available immediately at launch and will be rolled out through an over-the-air (OTA) update.
Following the recent Google I/O 2025 event, the China-based manufacturer has already made the Android 16 Beta program available for the Honor Magic 7 Pro since May 7, allowing developers to upgrade their devices to Android 16 Beta 3 and explore new features or adapt their applications for the upcoming operating system.
