Ninja Theory has officially announced the arrival of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 Enhanced, set to launch on PlayStation 5 on August 12. This revamped version of the game will be equipped with new features and improvements. Furthermore, existing users on PC or Xbox Series S/X will receive these enhancements as a free update.
Release Date and Features of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 on PS5
The developer has also revealed that the enhanced edition will be Steam Deck verified starting August 12. One of the notable additions is the introduction of a ‘Performance’ mode, which enables gameplay at 60 frames per second on the PS5 and Xbox Series X. The initial release had limited Xbox consoles to 30fps. However, it is important to note that the Performance mode will not be available for Xbox Series S users. For PC players, a new ‘Very High’ graphical preset will be included in the update.
Returning gameplay elements include the Dark Rot mechanic from the original title. This optional mode challenges players as the Dark Rot intensifies with each failure, ultimately resulting in the end of the main quest and a reset of all progress.
In addition to these gameplay features, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 Enhanced will offer an upgraded photo mode with enhanced tools and over four hours of developer commentary, providing insights into the game’s development.
On August 12, the game will be available on PS5, PC, Xbox Series S/X, and through Game Pass. Players can choose between Standard and Deluxe editions on the PlayStation Store, priced at $49.99 and $69.99, respectively (Rs. 4,399 and Rs. 4,499 in India). The Deluxe Edition includes an optimized version of the first game, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, along with the enhanced edition of Hellblade 2. Pre-orders for the title are currently open on the PlayStation Store.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 Enhanced was first announced in May, adding to the growing list of first-party Xbox titles transitioning to PlayStation this year. The game initially launched on PC and Xbox Series S/X on May 21, 2024.
