In December, Netflix expanded its gaming subscription service by introducing Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. This revamped collection of iconic titles from Rockstar Games has since achieved a remarkable milestone, exceeding 30 million downloads on Netflix Games. The trilogy encompasses the remastered editions of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and is accessible to all Netflix subscribers on both iOS and Android platforms.

Data sourced from mobilegamer.biz reveals that GTA: San Andreas is leading the download charts with 20.5 million installations. Following closely, GTA: Vice City has garnered 6.5 million downloads, while GTA III has been downloaded 3.3 million times. The combined total stands at 30.3 million downloads, making the remastered trilogy the most popular game series featured on the streaming service’s gaming platform.

The report further breaks down the downloads by platform, indicating that the three titles have collectively been downloaded 23.1 million times on iOS devices, whereas downloads from the Google Play Store account for approximately 7.2 million.

A notable portion of these downloads originates from India, where the game breakdown includes 8 percent of San Andreas, 18 percent of Vice City, and 12 percent of all installs of GTA III coming from the region.

Originally launched on November 11, 2021, for PC and consoles, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition features enhanced visuals, gameplay adjustments, and various quality-of-life improvements.

The trilogy became available on the Netflix Games service on December 14, 2023, at no additional cost to subscribers through the App Store, Google Play, and within the Netflix app itself.

In addition to this successful launch, Netflix Games continues to grow its library, boasting over 80 mobile games across diverse genres, with the recent addition of popular titles such as Laya’s Horizon and Oxenfree II: Lost Signals.
