Rockstar Games’ highly awaited action-adventure game, Grand Theft Auto 6, is on track for its scheduled release in Fall 2025, according to Take-Two Interactive during their recent third-quarter earnings call on Friday. The parent company affirmed that there would be no delays, maintaining the planned timeline for launch later this year. Although a specific release date has not been officially set since the game’s reveal in December 2023, it will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X.
GTA 6 Targeted for Fall 2025 Launch
During Take-Two’s Q3 2025 earnings call early Friday, CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed the anticipated Fall 2025 launch date for GTA 6 and elaborated on the company’s release schedule for the upcoming year.
“Looking ahead, this calendar year is shaping up to be one of the strongest ever for Take-Two,” Zelnick said, noting the Early Access launch of Sid Meier’s Civilization VII and the planned releases of Mafia: The Old Country in the summer and Borderlands 4 by year’s end. “Grand Theft Auto VI is also set for release in the Fall.”
The CEO highlighted Take-Two’s expectations for record net bookings in fiscal years 2026 and 2027, supported by a robust lineup of game launches this year.
“We are exceedingly optimistic about the commercial potential of our titles and believe they will have a transformative effect on our business and our industry over the long term,” Zelnick stated. He expressed confidence in achieving record levels of net bookings in the coming fiscal years.
Take-Two President Karl Slatoff echoed this sentiment, indicating strong optimism regarding the forthcoming pipeline, which prominently features GTA 6’s Fall debut.
In the earnings call, Take-Two reported net bookings of $1.37 billion (approximately Rs. 11,977 crore) for the quarter ending December 31, 2024. The company maintained its guidance for net bookings in the range of $5.55 to $5.65 billion (about Rs. 48,522 crore to Rs. 49,398 crore) for fiscal year 2025.
Speculation surrounding the launch of GTA 6 has been heightened by a recently removed store page listing that suggested a release date of September 17. However, both Rockstar Games and Take-Two have yet to officially confirm any release date or pre-order details pertaining to the highly anticipated title.
Looking ahead, Rockstar is anticipated to unveil a second trailer for GTA 6 later this year, which may include further details on the release date. Since the initial trailer dropped on December 5, 2023, there has been no official communication from the developer regarding additional updates for the game.
