Earlier this month, Rockstar Games, known for the immensely successful Grand Theft Auto franchise, confirmed the long-anticipated reveal of GTA 6 will take place in December. Studio co-founder Sam Houser announced the upcoming trailer via several posts on Rockstar’s X account. Meanwhile, a new leak has surfaced, shedding light on discarded story DLC for Grand Theft Auto 5. Since its initial release in 2013, GTA 5 has consistently ranked among the best-selling games, buoyed by the ongoing popularity of GTA Online and its extensive player community. Despite persistent fan requests, the core game has not received any narrative expansions, with Rockstar choosing to enhance the lucrative online experience through regular updates. Additionally, the leak hints at a potential sequel to Rockstar’s 2006 title, Bully, which has garnered a dedicated following over the years.
According to VGC, user Liam (@billsyliamgta) shared a database file from GTA 5 that indicates a possible story mode DLC for the game. This leaked document contains a reference related to Trevor, one of the primary characters of GTA 5, along with a mention of a jet pack.
In a follow-up tweet, the same leaker revealed another database file featuring references to several Rockstar titles including GTA 4, Midnight Club, and Red Dead Redemption 2. Notably, it also contains indications that a sequel to Bully may have been in development at some point.
Bully, an open-world action-adventure game, centers on a troublemaking student navigating life at a boarding school. The game delves into themes of high school cliques and bullying, offering an interactive take on student life, enabling players to attend classes, engage in various activities, and encounter school-related mischief.
The notion of Bully 2 has circulated among fans for years, with calls for a sequel growing stronger. In 2018, there were reports suggesting that a Bully sequel could follow the release of Red Dead Redemption 2. A leaked casting call from an unidentified video game developer in the UK sought young actors for motion-capture roles in an unannounced game, further fueling speculation that the new project might be Bully 2.
Despite the ongoing excitement, Rockstar has not made any official announcements regarding a Bully sequel or story mode content for GTA 5. The studio has, however, confirmed that GTA 6 is on the horizon, with a reveal trailer set to drop next month. While details about the upcoming game remain scarce, a significant hack in September of last year leaked in-development gameplay footage, showcasing over 90 videos that featured two playable characters named Lucia and Jason. This leak strongly suggested that the next installment of Grand Theft Auto will introduce a female protagonist. Additionally, the game is anticipated to take place in a fictional version of Miami, with Vice City playing a central role in the narrative.
