Grand Theft Auto 5 will soon be added to Xbox Game Pass, according to an announcement made by Microsoft on Thursday. The enhanced edition of the game, which recently debuted on PC, will also be available through PC Game Pass. Both versions are set to join the subscription service on April 15. The GTA 5 Enhanced edition was released for PC on March 4, and provides technical improvements and GTA Online content that were previously exclusive to the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X platforms.
Upcoming Availability of GTA 5 on Xbox Game Pass
Subscribers of Game Pass Ultimate, Standard, and PC will be able to enjoy GTA 5 at no extra cost. The Enhanced version on PC includes console-specific upgrades alongside GTA Online content, featuring new vehicles, modifications, Chameleon Paints, and various enhancements through Hao’s Special Works.
The PC version of GTA 5 Enhanced will also introduce significant graphical improvements, such as ray tracing features like ambient occlusion and global illumination. Additionally, it will support AI upscaling techniques, including AMD FSR1 and FSR3, as well as Nvidia DLSS 3.
Players can expect new content with the update titled Oscar Guzman Flies Again, which allows gamers to take control of the McKenzie Field Hanger in Grapeseed. This update includes a range of new arms trafficking missions and features new aircraft among other additions, as highlighted in the Xbox Wire announcement.
To team up with friends in GTA Online, Game Pass members must ensure that everyone is playing the same edition of the game. Microsoft stated that Game Pass Ultimate and Standard members will have access to all console and PC editions of GTA 5, allowing them to download and play the version chosen by their friends. PC Game Pass subscribers have the option to choose between the standard and enhanced editions, regardless of whether their friends are playing via Steam or the Epic Games Store.
