Google is set to launch its Pixel 10 smartphone series later this year, featuring the new Tensor G5 chip, the fifth generation of its proprietary processing technology. Recent rumors have suggested that the tech giant is developing an innovative AI tool aimed at enhancing user experience by offering contextual suggestions based on users’ smartphone activities. A recent leak indicates that this feature may be named Magic Cue, allowing users to swiftly gather information from various Google services as well as their device’s screenshots.

New AI Tool Aims to Streamline User Tasks

In a recent development, a tipster shared screenshots of the upcoming Magic Cue feature on a Telegram channel (via 9to5Google). This feature, which has not yet been officially announced, appears to offer contextual suggestions and perform specific actions by leveraging information across multiple Google services on the user’s behalf.

The shared images also illustrate how the Magic Cue feature would function on a Pixel device. For instance, if a user is messaging a friend who requests their flight number, Magic Cue could automatically search the user’s email for the relevant flight details, streamlining the response process.

This feature is designed to work seamlessly with Google’s suite of services, including Calendar, Gmail, Keep, and Tasks. Additionally, it will have the capability to access data stored on the user’s device, such as messages and contact information.

According to the leaked screenshots, Magic Cue will also utilize information from screenshots saved on the device. Google’s existing Pixel Screenshots app employs AI to extract significant information for easy access, and it seems that Magic Cue will enhance this functionality by accessing data autonomously.

The implementation of the Magic Cue feature may draw upon recent user activity and app usage data, which raises potential privacy concerns, particularly with sensitive information. A privacy disclaimer included in the leaked screenshot claims that Google stores recent screen activity and Magic Cue app data in a “secure, isolated environment” on the user’s device, maintaining privacy unless the user opts to share the information.

It remains uncertain whether Magic Cue will be exclusive to the forthcoming Pixel 10 series, or if it will also be compatible with the existing Pixel 9 models and earlier versions. More details about this feature are anticipated in the forthcoming weeks, as the launch of the Pixel 10 series is projected for September or October, aligning with Google’s historical release timelines.
