Google is enhancing its Gemini assistant with the introduction of “scheduled actions,” a new feature designed for AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers. This functionality allows users to prompt the AI to perform tasks at designated times, such as summarizing their daily calendar at the end of each day or brainstorming blog post ideas every Monday.
Additionally, users have the capability to instruct Gemini to handle one-time requests, like summarizing the events of an award show the day following its broadcast. Google emphasizes in a recent blog post that users simply need to specify their requirements and the timing, allowing Gemini to take charge.
Subscribers can also oversee their scheduled tasks by navigating to the “scheduled actions” section in the app settings. Android Authority previously highlighted an early iteration of this feature in April, aligning with Google’s strategy to enhance the agent-like capabilities of its AI assistant.
In a parallel development, OpenAI’s ChatGPT already provides a comparable feature to its subscribers, enabling the chatbot to issue reminders and execute recurring tasks.
