On Sunday, Google unveiled new artificial intelligence (AI) tools designed for retail enterprises during the National Retail Federation’s (NRF) 2025 event. The Mountain View-based company introduced its Agentspace platform, which enables businesses to create personalized AI agents tailored for various automation tasks.
In addition to the Agentspace platform, Google Cloud highlighted enhancements to its Vertex AI platform’s Search for commerce tool. This tool offers capabilities reminiscent of Google’s search functionality that can be integrated seamlessly into any website.
The tech giant stated that the fast-paced evolution of AI technology can help businesses overcome challenges such as complex supply chains and increasing costs associated with managing a diverse array of enterprise applications. The introduction of the Agentspace platform, along with improvements to the Vertex AI Search for commerce tool, aims to address these issues.
Google Agentspace serves as an enterprise platform that empowers businesses to develop AI agents—specialized software systems that autonomously perform tasks utilizing skills like reasoning, planning, and memory.
With Agentspace, enterprises can design personalized AI agents to enhance customer experiences. According to Google, these agents can provide product recommendations, respond to inquiries, and assist shoppers throughout their purchasing journey.
Furthermore, Agentspace can also facilitate the creation of AI agents for internal use. Currently, the platform supports the development of agents focused on inventory management, customer service, and integration with third-party applications including Slack, GitHub, Drive, and Outlook, among others.
Google Cloud also introduced improvements to its Search for commerce tool, accessible through the Vertex AI platform. This tool enables the creation of an internal search experience on websites and domains, allowing customers to navigate easily and locate products efficiently.
Enhancements include support for advanced AI models aimed at improving product discovery on platforms. Additionally, the Connected Stores tool links users’ devices with in-store systems to enhance the omnichannel experience, allowing customers to browse physical store catalogs, complete payments during checkout, and access information about available inventory.
As these offerings are geared towards enterprise solutions, Google did not disclose pricing details. Interested businesses can reach out to Google Cloud to discuss their specific requirements to obtain a customized quote.
