On Wednesday, Google announced that its Veo 3 and Veo 3 Fast video generation models are now publicly accessible to developers on Vertex AI. These models had previously been in a closed beta phase, limited to developers who had registered for the AI models. With this move, Google is enabling all users of the platform to leverage these tools for creating new applications and enhancing existing software.
Veo 3 Rolls Out to All Developers on Vertex AI
In a blog post, Google confirmed that the Veo 3 series models are officially moving out of preview. Initially introduced in June, the video generation models have already resulted in over six million AI-generated videos from developers, according to the company.
Acknowledging the strong demand for these models, Google has made them generally available, eliminating the need for prior registration to access Veo 3 or Veo 3 Fast. The Veo 3 model stands out as Google’s premier video generation option, featuring highly realistic physics and motion with an advanced capability for creating narrative-driven scenes. It also includes support for native audio generation, allowing creators to incorporate background sounds and lifelike dialogues.
The Veo 3 Fast model offers a more streamlined version of its flagship counterpart, designed for quicker iterations while maintaining acceptable quality levels. At launch, these models will only facilitate text-to-video conversion, but Google plans to introduce image-to-video functionality starting August 1.
Regarding pricing, the Veo 3 AI model is set at $0.75 (approximately Rs. 65) per second for video and audio output. For video generation without audio, the cost drops to $0.50 (around Rs. 43) per second. In contrast, the Veo 3 Fast model is priced at $0.40 (about Rs. 35) per second for video with audio and $0.25 (approximately Rs. 22) per second for video without audio.
Notably, companies such as Canva, BarkleyOKRP, and eToro have already begun using Veo 3 for internal purposes as well as for client offerings.
