On Wednesday, Google unveiled a special initiative aimed at university students in the United States and select other countries. Eligible students will receive a complimentary one-year subscription to the company’s AI Pro plan, which provides access to enhanced artificial intelligence features and tools in applications like Gemini, Docs, Sheets, and NotebookLM. In the upcoming weeks, Google plans to broaden this offer to additional countries.
Google AI Pro Plan Pricing and Availability
The Google AI Pro plan is available in the US for a monthly fee of $19.99 (approximately ₹1,750) or as an annual subscription for $199.99 (around ₹17,500). By opting for the annual plan, customers can save $39.89 (roughly ₹3,500), according to the company’s announcement.

Students who meet the eligibility criteria can take advantage of this offer, which is open to those aged 18 and older in the US, Japan, Indonesia, South Korea, and Brazil. The offer is valid until October 6.
In addition, the program will soon expand to other countries, following a similar announcement made for students in India last month.
Benefits and Features of the Google AI Pro Plan
The Google AI Pro plan provides subscribers with access to the latest Gemini 2.5 Pro and Deep Research on Gemini 2.5 Pro models. Users can leverage advanced capabilities like video generation through the latest Veo 3 model, along with enhanced options for creating images and videos with Veo 2 in Whisk. Furthermore, limited access to Veo 3 Fast on Vertex AI will be included.
Students will receive 1,000 monthly AI credits for text, image, and video generation queries through the Flow and Whisk platforms. Google indicates that subscribers will also enjoy up to five times the usual limit for creating audio overviews, notebooks, and various other tasks in NotebookLM. Additionally, users will have access to Gemini features across Google’s suite of applications, which includes Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
Beyond just AI capabilities, the Google AI Pro plan offers 2TB of cloud storage, encompassing Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos.
