Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, the acclaimed open-world action-adventure title developed by Sucker Punch, is set to make its debut on PC on May 16. This move aligns with the ongoing trend of first-party PlayStation games becoming available on Windows platforms. The PC version will feature a range of anticipated enhancements and optimizations, developed by the experienced Nixxes Software, known for their work on previous PlayStation ports like Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
The studio announced the port’s release on the PlayStation Blog on Wednesday, informing fans that the project has been in development over the last year. The Director’s Cut will not only encompass the full game but will also include the Iki Island expansion and the cooperative online multiplayer mode known as Legends.
This PC iteration of Ghost of Tsushima will feature enhancements specific to the platform, such as unlocked frame rates, a comprehensive range of graphical settings and presets, as well as customizable controls for mouse and keyboard. Nixxes also confirmed support for ultrawide monitors, fully optimizing the game for 21:9, 32:9, and even an extended 48:9 resolution for those using triple monitor setups.
Performance enhancements will be a key feature for this port, with support for technologies like Nvidia DLSS 3, AMD FSR 3, and Intel XeSS. These options will deliver AI-driven upscaling and frame generation capabilities. Players with advanced hardware configurations can also utilize Nvidia DLAA or FSR 3 Native AA for enhanced image quality.
Controller support is robust, allowing extensive customization options, though utilizing a PlayStation DualSense controller will provide a heightened gaming experience thanks to its haptic feedback and adaptive trigger functionality.
Originally released in 2020 as a PS4 exclusive, Ghost of Tsushima was later updated with a Director’s Cut edition in 2021 for both PS5 and PS4, which included the story expansion set on Iki Island. The narrative follows Jin Sakai, a samurai navigating the chaos of the first Mongol invasion of Japan, driven by a quest for vengeance.
Pre-orders for Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut are now available on Steam and the Epic Games Store, with a price tag of Rs. 3,999. Those who pre-order will receive exclusive in-game items, including the New Game+ Horse, Traveler’s Attire, and Broken Armor dyes from Baku’s shop upon the game’s release on May 16.
Additionally, Nixxes is preparing to launch the PC version of another PlayStation exclusive, Horizon Forbidden West. This Complete Edition will be released on March 21, with the studio having recently disclosed detailed system requirements, indicating that players will need a minimum of 16GB of RAM to run this visually intensive game on PC.
