The Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphone series, which includes the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra models, is now receiving the highly anticipated Android 15-based One UI 7 update. This rollout is occurring in India and several international markets. The devices originally launched with Android 13 running Samsung’s One UI 5 interface.
One UI 7 Update Now Available for Samsung Galaxy S23 Series in India
According to a report from 91Mobiles, the stable One UI 7 update is being deployed for the Samsung Galaxy S23 series in India and selected global regions. This over-the-air (OTA) update comes with April 2025 security patches included.
Users of the Galaxy S23 series can initiate the download by navigating to the Settings menu on their phones, scrolling down to select the Software Update option, and then tapping on Download and Install. A restart of the device will be necessary to complete the installation process.
The update’s size is approximately 5GB for the standard Galaxy S23 model. For those who haven’t received it yet, the report indicates that the update will be available soon, as it is being rolled out in phases globally.
Previously, the launch of One UI 7 was postponed due to a bug related to the lock screen. The report suggests that Galaxy S23 users can temporarily disable lock screen security to avoid issues, and they may also wish to clear the cache partition after the update installation.
With the stable One UI 7 update, users will notice a revamped interface, featuring new buttons, icons, widgets, menus, notification trays, and control bars. The home screen experience is improved with a more symmetrical widget layout, allowing users to adjust icon sizes and widget transparency while customizing lock screen elements, including the clock and other options.
The update also replaces the Edge Panels support with the Now Bar feature and introduces Live Notifications for real-time updates.
One of the standout features is the integration of Google’s Gemini AI capabilities within Samsung applications such as Calendar, Clock, Notes, and Reminders. Additional AI-enabled functionalities encompass Drawing Assist alongside the ability to transcribe and summarize recorded calls.
The update enhances the camera features on the Galaxy S23 series, improving mode selection and zoom controls. Users will benefit from the new Pro modes, which allow for the saving of exposure settings for individual modes, as well as the introduction of the “Best Face” feature and the capability to record videos while playing audio concurrently.
Moreover, One UI 7 enables users to display separate calendars on widgets, access advanced battery protection settings, and configure distinct performance settings tailored to specific games.
