In May, FromSoftware introduced Elden Ring Nightreign and previously announced its next venture, The Duskbloods, during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct livestream in April. The esteemed studio has also been confirmed to be working on several unannounced projects, as noted by studio president and Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki last year. A recent report indicates that the developer has an upcoming multiplatform game that is entering its final stages of development, with a potential release in the coming year.

FromSoftware Developing New Title

According to a report from MP1st released last week, the Japanese studio is working on a new project under the code name “FMC.” The report suggests that this undisclosed multiplatform title is in the “advanced stages of production.” Sources indicate that the game could be ready for launch by 2026, barring any delays.

If this timeline holds, FromSoftware is poised to release two titles next year, including the action-RPG The Duskbloods, which will be available exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. Additionally, the studio is actively engaging in updates and downloadable content for Elden Ring Nightreign, the multiplayer co-op survival game that debuted on May 30.

In June, FromSoftware confirmed that Nightreign would see its first DLC later this year, which will introduce new features such as a Duos mode, enhanced boss encounters, and additional player characters, among other content.

The Duskbloods, revealed during the Switch 2 showcase in April, promises an online multiplayer experience that involves PvPvE gameplay, allowing up to eight players to compete against one another and artificial intelligence foes.

While the studio is moving forward with the release of multiple multiplayer games, Miyazaki reiterated in April that FromSoftware has no plans to abandon single-player experiences. This suggests that the unannounced project “FMC” could very well be centered around solitary gameplay.

Ongoing FromSoftware Projects

Since the launch of Elden Ring in 2022, FromSoftware has remained active in the gaming landscape. The studio released Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon in 2023, followed by a significant expansion for Elden Ring titled Shadow of the Erdtree in 2024. This year, Elden Ring Nightreign was launched, while The Duskbloods is set for a 2026 release.

In December 2024, Miyazaki indicated that the studio had no immediate plans for a sequel to Elden Ring but was in the process of developing multiple new projects. “I can’t discuss any unreleased work, but I do have several projects underway at FromSoftware,” he stated at the PlayStation Partner Awards 2024 Japan Asia event. “There are a variety of genres, so I hope you can look forward to it.”
