Forza Horizon 5, the highly praised open-world racing game developed by Playground Games, is set to debut on PlayStation 5 on April 29, as announced by the studio on Thursday. Initially launched as an exclusive for Xbox and PC in 2021, the game can now be pre-ordered through the PlayStation Store. Those who opt for the Premium Edition will be granted early access, allowing them to start playing on April 25.

The confirmation of the PlayStation 5 release comes shortly after an earlier announcement that Forza Horizon 5 would be the next Xbox title to make its way to Sony’s platform. Players who pre-order the game on PS5 will receive a special bundle featuring the cover vehicle — the 2021 Mercedes-AMG ONE. Additionally, they will receive 5,000 #Forzathon Points for purchasing cars and cosmetic items, as well as five Backstage Passes to unlock rare cars from the Backstage Shop.
On the PS5, Forza Horizon 5 will offer two graphics modes: Performance, which runs at 60 frames per second, and Quality, which operates at 30 frames per second. For those using a PS5 Pro console, the Performance mode will showcase enhanced visual fidelity. In contrast, Quality mode will introduce ray-traced reflections for cars during races and exploration.
The game will be accessible in Standard, Deluxe, and Premium editions on the PS5. The Standard Edition is priced at Rs. 3,999, while the Deluxe Edition, which includes the Forza Horizon 5 Car Pass, is available for Rs. 5,399. The Premium Edition, which encompasses the Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure downloadable content, the Car Pass, a Welcome Pack, VIP membership, and early access from April 25, retails at Rs. 6,599.
Moreover, Playground Games has announced that the Horizon Realms update will be implemented across all supported platforms on April 25. This update is anticipated to be one of the most significant yet, featuring four new reward cars and a new stadium track.
Originally revealed for the PS5 in January, Playground Games indicated a Spring 2025 timeframe for its release. This game adds to a series of first-party Microsoft titles that have transitioned to the PlayStation 5, following the company’s shift towards a multi-platform approach last year.
Forza Horizon 5 was initially released on November 9, 2021, for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X. Set in a vast open-world environment inspired by Mexico, the title achieved both critical acclaim and commercial success, securing awards in three categories at The Game Awards 2021.
