Fi, a smart pet technology company, has unveiled its latest innovation—the AI-enabled Fi Series 3 Plus collar. This new collar allows dog owners to track their pets’ movements, health, and behaviors directly through their Apple Watch. The new model was launched on Monday, boasting features such as enhanced behavior detection, seamless Apple Watch integration, and improved GPS capabilities compared to earlier iterations.
According to Fi, the Series 3 Plus collar can identify “significant changes in a dog’s behavior” with an accuracy rate of 80 percent. In addition to tracking dogs’ daily steps and sleep cycles, the collar monitors barking, licking, scratching, eating, and drinking behaviors, alerting owners to any unusual patterns over time. While the collar aims to promote proactive health monitoring, some users have reported experiencing increased anxiety with wearable technology.
Fi has doubled the sensitivity of the GPS tracking signal from previous models to enhance location accuracy. The accompanying app, which allows owners to keep tabs on their pet’s whereabouts and activities, is now accessible on Apple Watch and retains all features available in the mobile version, including a new AI-driven document analysis tool that extracts health data from veterinary records, invoices, and insurance documents.
The Series 3 Plus collar retains several features familiar to users of previous versions. It boasts a waterproof IP68 rating tested for up to 50 meters in saltwater, a battery that can last up to three months on a single charge, and a built-in light for increased visibility at night. Available in five different sizes and four colors—yellow, blue, pink, or gray—the pricing model includes access to app features through a subscription, starting at $14 per month, with no additional charges for the collar itself.
