Final Fantasy XVI is set to make its debut on PC over a year after its exclusive release on PlayStation 5. Square Enix announced that the next installment in the iconic RPG series will launch on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store on September 17. A free demo of the action role-playing game is available on both platforms, and pre-orders are currently open.
PC Launch Date Revealed for Final Fantasy XVI
Square Enix has detailed that Final Fantasy XVI will be offered in two versions on PC: a Standard Edition containing the base game and a Complete Edition that includes downloadable content (DLC) chapters “Echoes of the Fallen” and “The Rising Tide” at a reduced price. Gamers will also have the option to purchase these expansions individually upon launch or opt for the Expansion Pass, which encompasses both story chapters.
Players who pre-order Final Fantasy XVI will receive exclusive in-game items as rewards. The Standard Edition is priced at Rs. 3,499, while the Complete Edition will retail for Rs. 4,799.
A free demo is currently available on both the Steam and Epic Games Store. This demo includes the prologue segment of the game, which focuses on protagonist Clive’s early life, mirroring the demo released for the PS5. Notably, save data from the demo can be transferred to the full game upon its launch. The demo offers more than two hours of gameplay and features the “Eikonic Challenge” Mode, allowing players to engage in Eikon battles with advanced access to Eikonic Abilities.
Launched as a PS5 exclusive on June 22, 2023, Final Fantasy XVI presents a unique narrative within the franchise, tracing the adventures of Clive across the fantastical realm of Valisthea, a land embroiled in struggles for dominance over the potent Mothercrystals.
The major expansions, “Echoes of the Fallen” and “The Rising Tide,” will enrich the main game with new story arcs, boss encounters, side quests, weapons, accessories, and an increased level cap. Players can look forward to Final Fantasy XVI arriving on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on September 17.
