Underdogs Studio, an Indian development team, has unveiled gameplay details for their upcoming narrative-driven adventure game, Mukti, which is set to launch on PC and PS5. Set against the backdrop of mid-2000s India, the game encourages players to explore a museum while uncovering clues tied to its historical past. Mukti is a part of Sony’s India Hero Project and is currently available for wishlisting on both Steam and the PlayStation Store.
Mukti Gameplay Trailer Unveiled
In Mukti, players will step into the role of Arya, a young woman searching for her missing grandfather. Drawing inspiration from narrative-driven titles such as Firewatch and Gone Home, this indie game is played from a first-person viewpoint, allowing players to wander through an expansive museum in Mumbai and gather clues that unravel the mystery surrounding Arya’s grandfather’s disappearance.
The recently released first-look trailer showcases pre-alpha gameplay footage recorded on PS5. In the trailer, Arya is seen navigating the museum’s halls, engaging with various items including pamphlets, and interacting with different elements of the environment.
“Our partnership with the Sony India Hero Project has not only energized our efforts to bring our vision to life but has also reinforced our belief that Indian narratives deserve a place on the global stage,” said Vaibhav Chavan, founder and CEO of Underdogs Studio. “We are excited to finally share a glimpse of what we have been working on.”
