Elon Musk has revealed that the social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, will now grant select users access to features from its paid subscriptions, X Premium and X Premium+, without any additional fees. However, eligibility for this offer is limited, as articulated by the company’s CEO on Thursday. The Premium subscription is designed to minimize advertisements on users’ timelines and provide access to exclusive features, including Grok, an AI chatbot developed by Musk’s startup, xAI.
In a post on X, Musk noted that all accounts with more than 2,500 verified subscriber followers will now receive Premium features at no charge. In India, the X Premium subscription is available for Rs. 650 per month via the website, while an annual subscription costs Rs. 6,800.
Going forward, all 𝕏 accounts with over 2500 verified subscriber followers will get Premium features for free and accounts with over 5000 will get Premium+ for free

Additionally, accounts boasting over 5,000 verified subscriber followers will gain access to X Premium+ features, which currently costs Rs. 1,300 a month if subscribed through the web and Rs. 13,600 annually. Pricing is notably higher for subscriptions made through Android and iOS applications.
Musk did not clarify the rationale behind extending X Premium and X Premium+ features to specific users. This announcement follows a report indicating a decline in user engagement on the platform, which has faced challenges in retaining its user base. However, X has publicly disputed these findings.
Both subscription tiers come with various features, including the ability to edit or undo posts, increased character limits, the option to post longer videos, background video playback, video downloads, and access to the Grok AI chatbot. Premium+ subscribers also have the privilege of posting articles, along with customization options for the mobile app interface and the ability to hide likes and subscriptions.
