Electronic Arts has unveiled its upcoming Star Wars title, Star Wars Zero Company, a single-player turn-based tactics game developed by Bit Reactor in partnership with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games. Set during the twilight of the Clone Wars, the game promises a “gritty and authentic story” that follows a unique squad of operatives combating a new menace threatening the galaxy. Scheduled for release in 2026, Star Wars Zero Company will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X.
Star Wars Zero Company Announced
The strategy game was initially confirmed last week following a leak, with the full announcement made this past Saturday during the Star Wars Celebration event in Japan. Players will assume the role of Hawk, a former Republic officer who will assemble and command an unconventional team of elite mercenaries. The members of Zero Company hail from various corners of the galaxy and embody classic Star Wars archetypes such as astromechs, Jedi, and droids, each featuring unique personality traits and combat abilities.
Accompanying the announcement, EA released a trailer showcasing both cinematic and gameplay elements of the new strategy title.
“Our vision for Star Wars Zero Company is grounded in gameplay design pillars that weave in the immersive Star Wars galaxy with engaging turn-based tactics gameplay,” stated Greg Foertsch, CEO and Creative Director at Bit Reactor, in a press release. “We aim to deliver a game featuring an original Star Wars story from the Clone Wars era, with meaningful outcomes stemming from player choices, alongside deep tactical combat presented in an accessible and cinematic style.”
Players will guide Zero Company through a series of tactical missions and investigations across the galaxy while also establishing a base of operations. EA mentioned that Hawk’s appearance and combat class can be customized to players’ preferences. Additionally, operatives can be chosen from a variety of original Star Wars character classes and species, allowing for customization of appearances, loadouts, and abilities across different archetypes, including Clone Troopers, astromechs, and Jedi.

Building strong relationships with squad members will be essential during missions, unlocking combat synergies that enhance effectiveness in battle. Preparation and strategic planning will be vital for success in tactical operations.
During the event, EA introduced four original characters from the game: Trick, a clone soldier; Luco Bronc, an incendiary sharpshooter; Cly Kullervo, a Mandalorian gunslinger; and Tel, a Tognath Jedi Padawan.
Star Wars Zero Company is set to offer one of the largest and most interactive maps ever seen in a Star Wars game, inviting players to explore familiar planets featured in other Star Wars media, such as Serolonis from The Bad Batch, Vandor from Solo: A Star Wars Story, Mapuzo from Obi-Wan Kenobi, and more.
Though a specific release date has not yet been announced, Star Wars Zero Company is expected to launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X in 2026. The game is now available for wishlisting on all supported platforms.
