The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced on Friday that it has finalized an agreement with a telecommunications firm to enhance internet connectivity across its metro corridors, as stated in an official release.
Under this collaboration, Beckhaul Digital Technologies Private Limited will install 700 kilometers of fibre optic cables throughout all metro lines, including the Airport Line, the statement revealed.

The implementation will be carried out in phases, starting with the Pink and Magenta Lines, while the remaining lines are projected to be operational within six months, according to the statement.
This fibre optic network will serve as a crucial infrastructure component for high-speed internet, facilitating telecommunications companies, internet service providers, data centers, and smart city initiatives. It is also expected to support the seamless deployment of 5G services throughout the Delhi-NCR region.
The initiative aligns with the Government of India’s objective of creating a digitally connected nation, the statement indicated.
This project aims to enable telecom operators to provide faster, more reliable internet while maximizing the efficiency of DMRC’s existing infrastructure. With the rising demand for high-speed connectivity and the expansion of 5G technology, this endeavor is poised to significantly enhance connectivity and prepare Delhi for future advancements.
