The Browser Company, known for its Arc browser, has officially introduced a new subscription model for its AI-driven web browser, Dia. This subscription, priced at $20 per month, grants users unlimited access to Dia’s chat feature, which allows them to engage with the content in their open tabs through questions.

Free users of Dia will retain access to the original features of the browser, such as interacting with its AI chatbot and developing custom capabilities. However, they may face restrictions on the frequency of AI chat usage, particularly for those who rely heavily on this feature.

While the Browser Company has not provided explicit limitations for users not subscribed to Dia Pro, CEO Josh Miller mentioned in a statement to The New York Times that “the browser will remain free for those who use the A.I. tool only a few times a week.” Additionally, Miller suggested the potential introduction of various subscription tiers, with prices ranging from $5 to several hundred dollars monthly.

The Browser Company announced its plans for Dia last year and launched the beta version in June. Over the preceding months, major players like Google and Microsoft have enhanced their browsers with AI capabilities, while the AI search startup Perplexity has also unveiled an early access version of its AI browser, named Comet. Speculation persists regarding OpenAI’s imminent introduction of its own AI web browser.
